Antique Silver Icon | Virgin Mary Paramythia

Silver copy of the miraculous icon of the Mother of God Paramythia - The Comforter, brought from the Holy Great Vatoped Monastery in the Holy Mount Athos with the blessing of Father Archimandrite Ephrem, the abbot of the monastery.

This icon saved the community of the Holy Great Vatoped Monastery from the invasion of pirates in January 1320. Since then, the icon is celebrated every year on January 21.
